The Second Trumbull County Courthouse, Warren, Ohio, circa late 19th century
Another contribution from Dave Burgess. His text follows: "Thanks to Emily Varner for giving me access to her private collection of Warren photos. Here we have the second Trumbull County Courthouse viewed from the south west corner of the park. Built in 1850 the building was destroyed by a fire in 1895. To the left rear of the image is the recently opened county jail, still minus it's front porch. To the right of the courthouse is the Dana Music Academy. Dave Burgess WGH'65"

Warren in the 21st century
Warren has had a tough time in the past 30+ years, since the steel mills started closing in the late 1970s. The population has declined by more than 1/3 (to ~40,000) since 1970 and the town suffers from a blight of empty houses and closed factories and fire stations. The hardest hits to Warren were the decline of Packard Electric and the closure of heavy industry such as Taylor Winfield, Peerless Electric, Wean United, Halsey Taylor.
