How to make a Pattern for an Apple Pincushion

Ta da! My newest apple on Fiberluscious. I had just planned on making a PDF pattern for my pear pattern, which I will, I promise. But I got to thinking about originality and how we all love to leave our own mark on this world. Thats such an important part of creating. Its a desire we all share. I can't say my designs are completely original. They may begin with a simple pattern of which I can't seem to copy without changing its shape, size and dimension. Here are a few of my favorite…

My 'Strawberry Delight' Creation No.2 ...

Hello my dear friends, my intentions were to head into the garden/backyard and pull weeds yesterday but as we again hit temperatures of almost 40C with humidity it just didn't happen, it was just too hot for me. Staying inside had to therefore be productive in my eyes, no matter which way ... chores or being creative. I chose to do a few chores and then specnd some time being creative. Strawberry Pincushions

You may remember seeing charming strawberry pincushions like these in your grandmother's sewing box. Hers were probably sewn from scraps of leftover fabric; ours are made with ribbon remnants, shirting fabric, and felt, which works especially well because its edges won't fray.

Velvet Strawberry Emery

A beautiful antique velvet strawberry emery with a sterling silver cap hangs from a rope of semi-precious stones. The stones include: pyrite, smoky quartz, moss aquamarine, garnets, citrine, onyx, mystic blue quartz and rose quartz. The sterling cap on the strawberry has some issues. I gingerly tried to straighten it out, but it's just too fragile to bend, so I'm leaving it alone. The clasp is a sterling silver hook and ivory ring. Dropping down your back on a chain of sterling links…
