Pura Ulun Danu Beratan, Bali
This is one of Bali's most important temples - the temple of Ulun Danu. The pagoda-like structure is known as "Meru". This temple's meru has 11 tiers which is the highest number of tiers possible for a Balinese Temple. This signifies the importance of its deity. The dark fibre used for the roof, which resembles human hair, is a product of the sugar palm. If you'd like to see the rest of my Bali photo collection, please click here.
