Andrew Wyeth painting en plein air in a field on his Cushing, Maine farm overlooking the ocean. Wyeth’s faithful yellow lab companion usually accompanied him on such outings.

Braids, 1979 by Andrew Wyeth - dry-brush watercolor (of Helga Testorf). The big surprise secret of Wyeth's career were the Helga series, 247 paintings of his Prussian-born neighbor, painted from without the knowledge of Wyeth's wife or Helga's husband.

Andrew Wyeth lived in my hometown when I was young. We had several Wyeth prints in our home. Betsy Wyeth (wife) used to stop by my parents antique store - 13 Colonies Village Store - on Rt. 1. She even signed a Wyeth art book my Mom had. Always have loved his work.
