Exterior views of MCM architecture. For MCM houses I came across that are actually for sale, they have their own board: "My MCM house-hunting hobby"

The Vintage Life
Our 1963 A-frame vacation home was overall very original. The kitchen was completely original. It had light beige ceramic 4x4 tiles on the walls and a brown oven, cook top and hood. It also had multi-colored speckled laminate with a white background. The cabinets were original as well. The kitchen was in what I would call good condition but unfortunately water had gotten under parts of the laminate on the counter and it was starting to separate from the wood. There was some sort of leak by…

The fabulous "House of the Future" that was viewable at Disneyland between 1957-1967. I try not to let my knowledge that the demonic and enormously powerful Monsanto Chemical Corporation built this, ruin my appreciation of it's mid century fabulousness. Yes, the same company poisoning every morsel you put in your mouth these days.

View Large On Black Architect: A. Quincy Jones (1947) Location: Brentwood (Los Angeles), CA This is my favorite model of these homes, with the roof that appears to float above the house. You can see the Los Angeles skyline through those magnificent clerestories, all the way through the house. I want this house! This was a challenge to take, as it was against the sun so I had to shoot it about +2/3 over-exposed to make sure to capture some detail in the shadows of the front of the house. Of…

Partially old, partially new. This house is located in the Olympic Manor neighborhood in Seattle and was built in the 1950s. The owners successfully added on without compromising the MCM look.
"House of the Future", Disneyland 1957-1967. I have discovered that this fabulous structure had behind it the evil Monsanto Chemical Company. Thanks, Monsanto for ruining that for me!
