Artist Jurgen Kuipers designed the ‘Sawyer’, which is a custom made full functional beachcruiser with a beech plywood frame. The bike won an IBDC/IF award handed out during the Taipei Cycle Show 2013 in Taiwan.
B — Wood Bike - WOOD.B is a new urban bike combining wood and metal. It was designed by the French designers Thierry BOLTZ and Claude SAOS. The design is justified by the concept of assembly between the steel and the wooden frame.
The bicycle was conceived by Martino Hutz, Atanas Zhelev and Mariya Korolova whilst working on a wooden structural design for a London house, during their studies at the University of Applied Arts Vienna.
