Skomakarnibbå -The shoemaker's needlepoint- in Hjelmeland. Preikestolen is a walk in the park compared to this hidden plateau. Legend has it that a shoemaker lost a bet with the devil and had to make a pair of shoes while sitting on this rocky outcrop. He got distracted by a wedding procession sailing in the fjord below, lost his balance and fell down into the fjord. It is said that when the Seven Sisters marry, Skomakarnibbå will come crashing down into the fjord.

10 minuts by car from Spa-hotell Velvære: Skomakarnibbå (The Shoemaker's Crag) at 700 meters is a distinctive mountain south of the Jøsenfjord in Hjelmeland, Ryfylke, that can be viewed in profile from the National Tourist Route Ryfylke (Rv 13) between Vadla and Vindsvik. The mountain's name has its origins in an old saga.
