Vintage Rippling Blocks
After searching everywhere for this pattern my grandmother used to make and not finding written instructions, I decided to write the pattern instructions myself. I thought this variation of the block stitch was well known, and I don’t claim that I invented it. I just wrote it down so everyone can enjoy it.
Hjarta is an Icelandic lopapeysa-inspired pullover. The yoke is sprinkled with hearts of all sizes for extra love for the wearer, be it yourself or a dear one. It begins and ends with interesting colorwork and has a smooth-sailing stockinette middle that flies by in no time. There are two options for neckline treatment: a simple ribbed hem, or a more substantial folded ribbed hem that is sewn down.
