This is so true for anyone that works with kids and especially at a school! I feel that way about my student teaching kids already!They make my heart over flow! Kids don't have to be biological to bring so much joy and fulfillment to your life!

Great sight words idea... Students choose one and find that word throughout a book.

Big Book Station--these are sight word pointers and are great for finding sight words in books. The children choose a pointer and look for that word as they read. I printed the words on colored cardstock stars and taped them to straws.

Interactive reading board!  Each student will fill their cup with books they read in and out of school throughout the year!  I used paint sample slips from a local hardware store!  Thank you!  Students can check out their peer cups for ideas and we will total books read by class at end of each trimester!

Number matching - could use colored sticker dots (fine motor) or use crayon/marker/bingo marker to match. Could match sight words too.

These 100 counting mats are AWESOME! Use them on the day of the school, but use them at anytime you're working with too. Laminate them for use year after year too.
