Woolly thyme plant

Woolly thyme creates a green mat around pathway pavers. Ground-hugging flowers can create an interesting effect, and may be worth the planting effort.

There's never enough thyme. That's why we brought in a bunch more Thymus pseudolanuginosus (Woolly Thyme) to the nursery at Westport Winery. This nifty little plant forms a dense mat of fuzzy gray foliage with abundant small pink flowers in June and July. It's good between stepping stones and rockeries and makes a soft scented carpet. The butterflies and bees love this plant but the deer don't!
