Computer Visionary Who Invented the Mouse (Published 2013)
Douglas V. Engelbart, the man showed in the photo, developed window-style display screens, the mouse and other interactive concepts that are used today with computers. He was driven to create this type of interactive computing after being moved by Vannevar Bush's 1945 article "As We May Think". This article encouraged scientist to create peaceful technologies after the war.
There was a major change in digital communication when design shifted from only text-oriented to graphic-oriented interfaces. This allowed for new ways to present information through outlets such as text, graphics, sound and moving images.
