Pair of George III painted satinwood armchairs in the style of English Cabinet maker George Seddon with inset caned backs with center medallions, double inset caned arms and seats. The frames are painted in the neoclassical style introduced by the French 18th century Peintre ébénistes. This style was copied in England by the celebrated cabinetmaking firm of, George Seddon, Sons & Shackleton of Aldersgate Street, 1753 - 1868, who worked closely with George Hepplewhite and Robert Adam.
