H.H. Raj Rajeshwar Maharajadhiraj Shri Hanwant Singh of Jodhpur (1923 - 1952) was the ruler of the Indian princely state of Jodhpur from 1947 until 1952. He was a great player of Polo & is accredited as world polo champion. He succeeded his father as Maharaja of Jodhpur in 1947. He was progressive & had faith in democracy. After Indian independence & formation of Rajasthan as a state within India, he formed a new political party in 1952, contested elections & won a majority in his region.
