Another edible mushroom that grows around here in the fall and even into the early winter. Velvet stem is an edible mushroom that tastes exactly like enoki mushrooms. These are very young, just a day or so old, and are absolutely at their peak of flavor at ths point. Never eat any wild mushroom unless you are absolutely positive of the id.
