Point of View Task Cards - Author & Character / Narrator Perspective Practice

These 24 point of view task cards are designed to help students think about what a character or an author's point of view is and whether they agree or disagree with that point of view. These task cards are perfect for practicing the Common Core Standards: RL 3.6 "Distinguish their own point of view from that of the narrator or those of the characters." RI. 3.6 "Distinguish their own point of view from that of the author of the text." Each task cards contains a short reading passage. There are 12 fiction / narrative task cards and 12 nonfiction / informational task cards. Students will read the task card and determine the author or character's point of view (what the character or author thinks about a certain topic). Then, students will explain their own point of view - whether or not they agree with the character's actions or the author's thoughts.
