Solving Percent Proportions Game/Math Center by Miss Middle School Teacher
This is a great station or activity for students practicing solving percent problems with proportions or a percent equation. All you need are some dice and some chips for playing pieces! This product contains all the rest!
Students play in groups of 2-3 to play Connect 4. I have them use personal white boards, but they could just as easily complete the problems on notebook paper. They shuffle the deck of "Percent Problems Cards" and place them face down on a table. Then, they flip one card over. Everyone in the group tries to accurately complete the problem (this is not a race!). Once everyone has finished, they show their answers. They can check answers with each other, or consult a copy of the answer key. All students with correct answers get to roll the dice. Highest roll gets to place their chip on the Connect 4 board first. Play continues until a student has connected 4 of their color on the board!
This set includes: Student game directions, a set of 36 percent problems cards (story problems included!), an answer key for the percent problems cards, and a game board.
