My mom, Lisa, is from Panama and she learned to make these traditional beef empanadas from her abuela. They hold a special place in my heart.
Ingredients

• 1 1/2 lb Ground beef

• 2 cloves Garlic
• 1 cup Green onions or scallions
• 1 Habanero pepper
• 1 Onion
• 1 tsp Oregano, dried
• 1 cup Parsley, fresh
• 1 tsp Thyme
Refrigerated
• 1 Egg
Canned Goods
• 6 oz Tomato paste
Condiments
• 1/4 cup Green olives
• 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Baking & Spices
• 14 oz Empanada-dough, leaves
• 1/2 tsp Paprika
• 1/8 tsp Pepper
• 1 Red pepper
• 1/2 tsp Salt
Oils & Vinegars
• 1 tbsp Olive oil
• 1 tbsp Red wine vinegar
Nuts & Seeds
• 1/4 tsp Cumin, ground
Liquids
• 1 cup Water
Other
• 1/4 tsp Annatto, ground
• 1 packet Sazón
