Not one but two giant plaster (very heavy) moulds. The mould on the left is the 'Cast Bowl' the mould on the right is the setter. The outside of the bowl looks like it's a solid form but it is actually hollow and in firing it needs a support to keep it from collapsing. The setter is made to support it in firing where at 1250 degrees centigrade it is like molten glass.
