Yourstone Ceramics - Lerlaxen Irma Linnéa Claesson, born in Lundby Gothenburg on July 15, 1911, started her career at Röstrand, where she worked as a decorator during the period 1928-1939. During this period, she also meets Henry Yourstone, born in Huddinge on October 23, 1909. The couple settles in Huddinge where in 1942 they start Yourstone Ceramics, the same year the son Bengt is born and in 1945 they get their daughter Irma Kristina. The company in Huddinge is run until 1959, after which the business is moved to Halmstad. In Halmstad, the company "Lerlaxen" opens, first at Kasten Rönnowsgatan 3 and from 1963 on Storgatan. Manufacturing consisted mainly of ornamental, utility and working ceramics. During the second half of the 1960s and until 1971, Irma also worked as a freelance ceramist for Upsala Ekeby, Bo Fajans, Steninge and Laholm. Also her daughter Irma Kristina, then with the surname Brodier (KB), performed a few works for Upsala Ekeby during the years 1971-72. When his son Bengt Yourstone takes over the company in 1985, the production of turned objects ceases, instead he chooses to concentrate on hand-made figures. The company is still operating in 2012 though on a smaller scale than before. Now only the Santa Claus family, the Luciata train and the Gingerbread figures are produced. In addition to Irma, Henry, Bengt and Kristina Yourstone, Ulla Sönnerstam, Åke Gudmundsson, Ulla Nilsson, Rita Örjansson and Ove Rasmussen and others worked in the company. They also arranged internships for young people on their way to further education at the art trade. In 1990, Irma Kristina Yourstone and her daughter Christina Tania started the company "TK-Your Design" in Halmstad with a focus on design, design, craftsmanship and decoration. Henry Yourstone died in Halmstad on January 16, 1984 and Irma Yourstone on August 22, 1988.
