One of the rarest gemstones to ever come out of Mozambique. It has the power to move me when bright diffused natural light illuminates the gemstone. It tends to lose saturation in incandescent light, but it is still purple with purple flash.
I love this gorgeous gem not familiar to most people. The trade name is "Titanite". Sphene has the second highest dispersion 'fire' of any stone, the highest being demantoid garnet. The third highest is diamond.
