AP Lit teacher told me to make sure to read the Author's Note and wait for the fantastic ending; think of "The Things They Carried" once I'd finished. need to read.

I am who I am and I cannot always explain why that is so; I had no choice as to the family I was born in to nor what my family does; I still have the option to be ME and which direction I want my life to head. If it means I have to leave behind those who are family due to my birth, so be it. I will find family in those who love and support my journey and goals.

As the late author planned, the books form a coming-of-age story, albeit an unconventional one, in which the rough-edged computer genius Lisbeth Salander moves from aggressively antisocial behavior toward self-awareness and happiness. Much of that happens in this book, and Salander's stridency is subtly decreasing, even as she is forced to combat an awesome array of villains.

The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest (Millennium Trilogy Series by Stieg Larsson

The story of a Chinese boy and a Japanese girl living in CA during WWII. One of  my very favorite books!

Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet. This sounds touching and interesting. Set in Seattle, too.
