Volgens de Fabergé familietraditie de vorm van de eieren zou nemen waren geheim, de enige eis was dat elk ei een verrassing moet bevatten.  De eieren die Faberge gemaakt voor de royalty waren extra grote en riep "Keizerlijke Eieren". Van de 65 bekende grote Fabergé eieren 57 hebben overleefd op de huidige dag.

The Romanov Tercentenary Egg is a jewelled Easter egg made under the supervision of the Russian jeweller Peter Carl Fabergé in for Tsar Nicholas II of Russia. It was presented by Nicolas II as an Easter gift to his wife, the Tsaritsa Alexandra Fyodorovna.
