The Queen Maud Vifte Tiara. Queen Maud was one of the daughters of King Edward VII. When Maud turned eighteen in 1887, this diamond tiara was her birthday gift from Queen Victoria. In recent years, the tiara has primarily been worn as a diadem by the current Norwegian queen, Sonja. However, Sonja has also occasionally lent the piece to her daughter-in-law, Crown Princess Mette-Marit, who has so far only worn the tiara as a necklace.
