Around 1900 Frederic Danton founded a small ceramics company in Got-Barbet. He worked in metallic luster glazes similar to Clement Massier. Some experts claim they cannot be told apart except for the signatures, which Danton also blatantly copied in style. He produced a very limited quantity of finely detailed wares for a very short period of time. This vase is double marked. Its stamped FREDERIC DANTON GOT-BARBAT AUBUSSON CREUSE, and signed Limoges Got Barbat A C.
