Brooch by Louis Aucoc in gold and diamonds with plique-a-jour enamel water and a baroque pearl. Aphrodite, or a sea-maiden, reclines on a shell, accompanied by a suspended octopus with ruby eyes. René Lalique apprenticed with Aucoc.

Probably altered in 1950 with the addition of diamonds surmounting the swan's head and the crescent moon. Signed PW on reverse and inscribed "Ex. Unique"
