Gabriele Münter (1877-1962) was een Duitse expressionistische schilder en grafisch kunstenaar. Ze was de levensgezellin van Wassily Kandinsky. Ze hield een aanzienlijk deel van zijn werk verborgen tijdens en vlak na de Tweede Wereldoorlog en gaf het later terug aan de openbaarheid, met werken van zichzelf en kunstenaarsvrienden van Der Blaue Reiter.

Following the deaths of Raymond Asquith, Edward Horner & Patrick Shaw-Stewart, Lady Diana married Alfred Duff Cooper, one of her circle of friends' last surviving male members, in June 1919. It was not a popular choice in the Manners household, since the bride's parents had hoped for a marriage to the Prince of Wales.
