Rare Viking 'Ornamented' Penannular Brooch  Copper alloy, 21.20 grams; 73.08 mm. Circa 9th - 11th century AD. Omega type brooch with two trapezoidal fins below the ring; each fin decorated with a rope type border enclosing a large beaded triangle. The internal sections of the two triangles have a trefoil of pellets and a single pellet above. Around the edges of both fins are six loops from which hang copper wire ornaments and glass beads. Very fine condition. Found Lake Ladoga.
