Orioles are shy and even though I had lived in Nebraska for many years, the first good sighting was in late April during migration, a flock were moving from Saguaro to Saguaro eating the flower centers in Phoenix on their migration north for the summer. They usually arrive by May 1st in Nebraska for the summer breeding season.
