I lived this for years. Whether it was overbearing family members, "best" friends or live-in partners, I was always trapped ~ until I finally woke up and began to kick their sorry asses out of my life.
The scene you showed at the memorial service was just too much. You knew the situation and had to be the center of attention and to try to make people believe you were to be the wife when he had a wife already. You really looked pathetic as usual.
When someone knows damn well they owe you an apology, they become obsessed with discrediting you.
Red Flag #14. Accuses you of emotions that they are intentionally provoking. They will call you jealous after blatantly flirting with their ex over social networking for the world to see. They will call you needy after intentionally ignoring you for three days straight.
Narcissists are very envious of others. Unless they can take credit for the person's good fortune, it is either dismissed or seen as a threat. No one is better than they are. A narcissist cannot feel happiness for someone else, not even their own child.
Narcissists thrive on drama. If things are too quiet, they will make up a tragedy, instigate a family argument, fake a illness, and the list goes on... If they are really desperate, they may even threaten suicide just to get attention!
This goes for abusive work relationships too.
Narcissists. Comforting to know this is a real thing and we all weren't imagining how manipulative she was. Hard watching your child be the victim of this type of person.
