Galina Ustvolskaya "the woman with the hammers" (1919 - 2006), was a Russian composer of classical music. All of Ustvolskaya's works are large-scaled in intent, no matter how long they are or how many players are involved. Ustvolskaya's music is largely based on tension and density.

Helena Ranta is a forensic dentist who has worked in the Balkans and Iraq, and has investigated the victims of the sinking of the Estonia and the victims of the 2004 tsunami in Thailand. Ranta also testified at the trial of former Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic in The Hague in 2003.
