Owls

The Eurasian Eagle-Owl is a very large, powerful bird, smaller than the Golden Eagle but larger than the Snowy Owl. It's often called the world's largest owl, tho the Blakiston's Fish Owl is slightly heavier and the Great Grey Owl is slightly longer.

Northern Hawk-Owl, a very appropriately named chap since it really does look like a cross between a hawk and an owl, particularly when in flight. It is also unique amongst owls in that it hunts at any time of the day whenever the opportunity arises, and is therefore neither strictly diurnal nor nocturnal.
