Bull Leaping Fresco from the Palace of Knossos, ca. Archeological Museum of Herakleion, Crete Perhaps the greatest “leaping” image in all of art history is the famous Bull Leaping.

From the Palace of Knossos, the famous "bull leapers" fresco from the East wing of the palace, dated around 15th century B.C.  The different phases of the sport are shown. The bull leapers are both men and women.

Archaeological Museum of Herakleion. Minoan bull leaping fresco ( 1600 - 1450 B. ) - detail I have a copy of a larger part of this fresco on my living room wall. A constant reminder of Knossos, Κνοσσος στην Κρητη.

Papyrus:  From our Akrotiri Collection which features frescos from the ancient Minoan City of Akrotiri on the island Santorini. Found in the West section of the House of Ladies, frescos of massive, three stemmed, blossoming plants are painted on the walls. Papyrus grows to up to the scale of the frescoes and displays a symmetry equivalent to the flowers in this wall-painting.
