A tree has been given every year to Britain since 1947 by Norway in gratitude for Britain's support for the country during the Second World War. Norway's Government-in-Exile was based in Kensington while the country was under German occupation. You can find out more about the trees on the GLA website. Date: December 1947

Viking sled "After some years as a sea-going vessel the Oseberg ship was finally laid to rest as a grave ship for a wealthy woman of high ranking. This woman received grace gifts for her journey to the realm of the dead, which included three highly decorated sleds and one sled of a simpler design (not displayed).
