Traditional hand-knitted woollen stockings, for women. From the Sivas province. Late 20th century. The main pattern are concentric diamonds called ‘ayna’ (mirror), which is a charm against evil eye; the horizontal stripes on top of the stockings are filled with small ‘çengel’ (hook), another protection against evil eye.
