Lesley Frew creates contemporary jewellery using discarded plastic bags. Interested in ethical and sustainable making, she selects raw materials that would otherwise be destined for landfill and transforms them. Through a number of processes that include layering, heatbonding, cutting, folding and hand-stitching, the bags are transformed into a versatile material that is colourful, soft, lightweight and offers many design possibilities.
