Non-toxic dyes - Fixative: 2 l cold water, 5 dl vinegar. Soak minimum 1 hr. Rinse to clear and wring out excess water. Dye: 2 l water, 8 tbsp turmeric powder. Heat up water and plant material in large pot. Let simmer for 15 min. Add wet fabric and soak for 1 hr. Rinse to clear and hang to dry.

Dye fabric using stuff you already have: Soak fabric in warm water until completely wet. In a pot, add 4 c. water, 1 c. vinegar & 1 small bottle of food coloring. Mix colors to get more color options. After mixing, place on stove on high. Put fabric in pot & move it around to make sure it gets wet.  Put a lid on it & boil for 5 min. Rinse fabric under cold water. Hang to dry.
