Anton Ludwig August von Mackensen (6 Dec 1849 – 8 Nov 1945), born August Mackensen, was a German soldier and field marshal.  He commanded with success during WWI and became one of the German Empire's most prominent military leaders. On 27 Nov 1914 Mackensen was awarded the Pour le Mérite, with Oak Leaves, Prussia's highest military order, for actions around Łódź and Warsaw.

Billing was part of a German operation during the Ardennes Offensive to spread chaos behind enemy lines by having English-speaking saboteurs, dressed as US troops, spread disinformation and sabotage facilities. Billing was born in the US and spoke native speaker English. He belonged to the paratroopers and operated under the command of Otto Skorzeny, the famed SS special ops operative.
