Rain Reign by Ann M. Martin --  It was described to me as being Winn Dixie meets Counting by 7's and that description was right on. Rose is on the Autism spectrum and has an obsession with homonyms, hence the title Rain Reign. Its a beautiful story of a girl and her dog and doing what is right even if it isn't the easiest choice to make. Perfect for middle grade readers and also touches on the subject of bullying. Loved it.
