My tattoo: a cell split in half to show the cycle of how the mitochondria within transform oxygen & fuel into energy. The cracks show the cell is broken to depict my chronic illness, Mitochondrial Cytopathy. On the left is my hubby's name, Eric, shown as close as possible to the real lines within the cell. In summary, an emotional & symbolic gesture to thank my hubby for all he's done & to remind me that when I need his strength, it's there & if I don't have enough energy he gives me his.
