This photograph was taken with the camera mounted on a tripod in the portrait position, looking at the subject from an angle of around 22 degrees. With a white reflector on the left of the image to help balance the natural light coming from the right, a remote shutter release was used to reduce camera shake. The large aperture setting and selective focus to the back of the photograph gives depth to the image.

Using this aperture setting has given a good depth of field and highlighted the sun reflecting on the ripples of the water.
