Uranus Farewell

Voyager’s Long Journey: 35 Years of Incredible Solar System Images

The aquamarine crescent of Uranus can be seen above in this parting shot from Voyager taken in The spacecraft – the only probe to ever visit both Uranus and Neptune – discovered a number of the planet’s moons.

Uranus was the first planet discovered by telescope. A huge, beautiful ball of gases and liquids, this planet travels through space spinning on its side.

Uranus is the planet from the Sun, and the largest planet in the Solar System. Uranus cannot be seen with the naked eye and therefore was not found until after telescopes were created.
