Nurses Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery, 1938 | Flickr. This statue, called the Nurses’ Memorial, is at the top of a slope in Section 21 (the nurses section) of Arlington National Cemetery. The statue looks down the hill to a sea of white military nurses’ headstones. The statue is now considered a memorial to nurses in all branches of the service. It is sometimes called the Spirit of Nursing.
