In excavations began in Norway that uncovered the largest Viking house in the world. The discovery was of a chieftain's home long and almost wide built around 500 AD and rebuilt a couple of times around 700 AD extending the longhouse to a staggering long.
Birger Jarl (c. 1200[3] – 21 October 1266[2]), or Birger Magnusson, was a Swedish statesman, Jarl of Sweden and a member of the House of Bjelbo, who played a pivotal role in the consolidation of SwedenBirger also led the Second Swedish Crusade, which established Swedish rule in Finland. Additionally, he is traditionally attributed to have founded the Swedish capital, Stockholm around 1250.
