17 October 1696 – 5 October was King of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania from 1734 until as well as Elector of Saxony in the Holy Roman Empire from 1733 until 1763 as Frederick Augustus II

George III (portrait by Alan Ramsay, 1762) - King of England 1760-1820 In the later part of his life, George III suffered from recurrent, and eventually permanent, mental illness (possibly from the blood disease porphyria). After a final relapse in 1810, a regency was established, and his eldest son, George, Prince of Wales, ruled as Prince Regent. On George III's death, the Prince Regent succeeded his father as George IV.

"Death of General Wolfe" (detail) by Benjamin West (1771) in the Royal Ontario Museum, Toronto - Historians know that many in this painting were not actually with Wolfe when he died; So a lot can be read in who is and isn't here. Case in point, the officer second from the right here is Robert Monckton - the only one of Wolfe's three brigadiers to appear. The other two - Townshend and Murray - were well known for their dislike of Wolfe, but Monckton seems to indicate otherwise here.
