Los hijos de América a ganar la guerra por Unknown Artist

World War 1 Poster, Women! Help America's sons win the war--Buy U. Government Bonds, Liberty Loan of 1917

"Fred Spear’s 1915 drawing of a drowning mother and child was inspired by a newspaper account of sinking of the Lusitania...The simple text, “Enlist” points to the purpose of this poster – to encourage young men to avenge the loss of women and children at the hands of the German enemy. ...due to the incredibly sad nature of this image ..... the poster was pulled from circulation....it is now one of the rarest WWI posters in existence today."

The sinking of the RMS Lusitania by a German U-boat in 1915 sparked outrage on both sides of the Atlantic, as this Boston Public Safety Committee poster of a drowning woman and her child shows.
