1897/1898 Victorian Bodice of Yellow Silk Crepe and Brown Velvet with Embroidery
Walking suit, Redfern, London, ca. 1890s. Two pieces, heavy wool trimmed in black soutache. Collar may originally have been covered (with fur?). Both pieces lined with black-, pink-, and yellow-striped silk. svpmeow/ebay
C.1896-1897. made of wool with the softest silk velvet trim you have ever felt. Soustache braid adds a bold contrast to the bodice. This bodice would have been worn during the winter time and is lined in striped cotton ticking. It's fully boned with 7 bones and has a waistband inside. The bottom of each sleeve puff have a sweeping pagoda sleeve style skirt in which the velvet "undersleeve" comes out of. The high standing velvet collar also has a lace trim around the top to flatter the throat

Complete three-piece (bodice, skirt and cape) in velvet dark blue silk. The bodice is closed in front by hooks. Inside the cape there 'label' paves daughters Grace M. Mode and Packaging Naples, 1891-1900. Dress, front view without cape
