Unfortunately we don't have control over all things, but we can control the way we think about the world. We are the creators of our own reality and perceptions can influence our reality. If we choose to perceive the world with a positive view, often even bad situations will seem less detrimental because of our hopeful outlook.

Resilience: All of us have times of stress, loss, failure or trauma in our lives. But how we respond to these has a big impact on our wellbeing.

I find myself saying this more than I should in regards to the honesty behind it. But sometimes you just have to smile and move forward.

Survivors have had their power taken away from them in the worst ways, and regaining control in their life can be difficult. It’s even harder for teenagers, who already have little control in their lives as it is. When clients tell me how they are feeling overwhelmed due to feeling like they have little control in their lives, I have the create “Control Circles”.
