Air New Zealand Boeing 747-419. What a waste! Would it not be better to preserve a NZ airline aircraft or major sections from one in a aviation museum. Just a ramble from a guy born in the Jet Age who would love to visit a Douglas, Boeing or BAe aircraft. Preservation of passenger aircraft in NZ doesn't seem to apply to jets. PIA Boeing 747-217B. This amazing photo shows retired AP-BCM nearing death at Karachi Airport in 2002. In death, she seems almost wishing to reach for the skies. In the background there's another PIA Boeing 747 (registration AP-BCN) going to be scrapped. Both these Boeing 747s were completely broken up by the end of year 2002.
