A sufganiyah is a round jelly doughnut eaten in Israel and around the world on the Jewish festival of Hanukkah. The doughnut is deep-fried, filled with jelly or custard, and then topped with powdered sugar.
I replicated this with a few packages of crescent rolls, brushed lightly with an egg wash, and served it with herb butter. It was very easy to pull apart the individual pieces, and turned out really pretty. Would definitely make again.
