The Battle of Chickamauga took place in Chickamauga, GA over the span of September 19 - 20, 1863. The Union was lead by Major General William Rosecrans and Major General George Thomas. The Confederate was lead by General Braxton Bragg and Lt. General James Longstreet. This was considered to be a Confederate victory, with 34,624 casualties; 16,170 being Union soldiers.

Taken on May the Clinch Rifles, a militia unit from Richmond County, Georgia, the day before it was mustered into Confederate service as Company A, Georgia Infantry Regiment.
